Bhubaneswar: More than 280 passengers have died and nearly 1,000 injured in the tragic train accident in Odisha's Balasore. After this fierce collision of three trains, many questions are arising. Amidst all this, the joint investigation report of the accident has come out. In this investigation report, a signal related error has been revealed behind this horrific incident. It has been reported that due to signal failure, this accident happened and the trains collided with each other. According to the report, the goods train was standing in the loop line at Bahanaga Bazar station.  Meanwhile, the 12841 Coromandel Express going from Chennai to Howrah reached Bahanga Bazar station. Every railway station has a loop line to pass another train. There are two loop lines, up and down, at Bahanaga Bazar station. Any train is parked on the loop line when another train has to pass through the station.

It is being told that at Bahanga Bazar station, the goods train was parked on the common loop line to pass the Coromandel Express and Yeshwantpur Howrah Express. At the same time, the Coromandel Express was passing through the main up line with high speed. At that time, Yeshwantpur-Howrah Express was also leaving from the down line. There is no stoppage of these trains at Bahanaga Bazar station. In such a situation, the speed of both trains was high. In such a situation, the Coromandel Express leaving Bahanga Bazar station suddenly derailed. Some coaches of the derailed Coromandel Express also entered the goods train. At the time of the accident, two coaches of the Yeshwantpur-Howrah Express coming out of the down line also derailed.
