A passenger train going from Ambala to Delhi today afternoon suddenly got derailed in Karnal, Haryana today, causing fear and panic on the incident site. As of now, no loss to life or property has been reported.

As per the sources, a coach of the train suddenly derailed near Nilokheri in Karnal. Following which, the train was stopped and all the passengers were evacuated out safely. The train was coming from Ambala towards Karnal, as it started off from the Nilokheri railway station, one of the coaches derailed due to a technical glitch. The passengers were all terrified after the incident.

Notably, as one of the train coach derailed from the track, the passengers heard a sound, somewhat like an explosion. That’s when the people realized that the train was actually running on the stones, instead of the track. It was easy to stop the engine as the train was in its initial speed having just left the Nilokheri Railway station. Thus, it was stopped immediately without any loss to life or property and any other harm caused.

As the information of the incident was reported, officials from the local police station and Nilokheri railway station reached the spot. They took all the passengers to the railway station. It has been said that the railway line was disrupted since some time and the passengers had to face problems. One of the passengers, Rohit who was present in the train during the time of the accident, said that when the fourth compartment of the train derailed, they heard the sound of an explosion. The rattling sound further scared everybody in the train.

At present, the exact reason of the derailing of train is not yet known. Though, the administration has ordered for an investigation. But, the good news is that everyone is safe and no one has been harmed.
