Travel Ban: UAE again extends ban on flights from India. Check Details

It was on April 24 that UAE had initially imposed ban on flights from India, following a surge in COVID-19 cases in India Now, UAE flag carrier Emirates has announced the further extension of its passenger flights from India until June 30 in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic situation in the South Asian country.

Last week, the Emirates had extended the suspension till at least June 14. In a statement issued on Sunday, the airline added: "Furthermore, passengers who have transited through India in the last 14 days will not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE.

However, "UAE nationals, holders of UAE Golden Visas and members of diplomatic missions who comply with the revised published COVID-19 protocols will be exempt for travel," the statement said.

Meantime, as per reports  Saudi Arabia is lifting a ban on travellers arriving from 11 countries that it imposed to curb the spread of coronavirus Travellers from the UAE, Germany, the US, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, France and Japan, will be allowed entry from Sunday, SPA reported, quoting an Interior Ministry source.

The Central Government on Friday extended the ban on international flights till 30 June, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in a circular.
