Mumbai: Tremors were felt in Maharashtra's Mumbai city after an earthquake hit Palghar district on Friday morning. An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 on the Richter scale hit the Palghar district at 11 am today.

According to the reports, The quake struck Dahanu in Palghar but felt over a large area. There were no reports so far of any loss of life and property. The Tremors were felt in Mumbai too, over 100 kms away from Palghar district which had frequently experienced tremors in December 2018.

Earlier in January 21, 2019  also Palghar region in Maharashtra was hit by a 3.6-magnitude earthquake on January 21, 2019. The tremors were felt in and around Dundalwadi near Dahanu.

Meanwhile, an earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale hit Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh on Friday. Tremors were felt for a few seconds in various areas at 11.40 am. The epicentre was Chamba and no loss of life was reported.
