Mumbai: Tribal rights activist Stan Swamy, arrested in the Elgar Parishad case, has passed away today at the age of 84. Officials of the hospital where Father Stan Swamy was undergoing treatment in this regard  he has informed the Bombay High Court. Let us tell you that Swami was undergoing treatment at Holy Family Hospital since the Bombay High Court order dated May 28.

His colleagues and friends were paying for his treatment at a private hospital. In May, Swamy told the Bombay High Court vacation bench through video conference that his health is not well in Taloja jail. He had urged the High Court to grant bail at that time and said that if things continued there, he would "die very soon."

The Algar Parishad case is linked to inflammatory speeches at a conference in Pune on December 31, 2017, which police claimed violence near the Koregaon-Bhima war memorial the next day. Many of which had died and social harmony had deteriorated.
