NEW DELHI: The Rajya Sabha on Friday paid homage to 10 former members including former Defence Minister and former Goa CM Manohar Parrikar. Venkaiah Naidu mentioned about the contribution made by the late former members in various fields. In honour of the departed people, the members stood in their respective places and observed some silence for some time. Former Goa CM Parrikar represented Uttar Pradesh in Rajya Sabha between 2014 and 2017. He was also the Chief Minister of Goa thrice. Naidu also mentioned the steps taken by Parrikar as Defence Minister.

Manohar Parrikar passed away on 17th March this year. He had been battling pancreatic cancer for a long time. He also underwent treatment at AIIMS in Delhi and the US. But there was no improvement in their health. In his last days, Parrikar stayed at home and was enjoying health benefits.
