Zimbabwe: The West Indies cricket team was criticised by Trinidad and Tobago's Prime Minister Keith Rowley after they were defeated by the Netherlands on Monday in a World Cup qualifying match.
Rowley referred to it as the "worst match ever" for the Caribbean team and showed his disgust with the performance on social media.
“Today I saw THE WORST CRICKET MATCH ever played by a West Indies team,” Rowley wrote on his Facebook page.

“This amateurish demoralizing embarrassment has to stop. Playing for West Indies requires a desire to fight, to believe, to win. To saunter through to defeat is unacceptable,” he added.
“Playing for West Indies must be a treasured privilege available only to the best that are prepared to show character in defence of our legacy and our pride. Those to whom these truths mean nothing must not be allowed out in West Indies colours,” he further wrote.

“The stench of today’s embarrassment didn’t start today it had a long gestation period in two decades of disappointment so those who were ‘expecting’ should not come looking for any exemption here,” he wrote.
Batting first in an exciting match, the West Indies built up 374 for 6 in their 50 overs, but the Netherlands were able to draw the game and force a super over thanks to Teja Nidamanuru's outstanding 111 from 76 balls.
In the Super Over, Netherlands player Logan van Beek excelled with both the bat and the ball. The West Indies wilted under the pressure as they lost both of their wickets for eight runs in five balls after he hammered 30 from Jason Holder's over. Once more, van Beek saved the day by sending back Johnson Charles and Holder when West Indies could only get 8.
