How will Mamata Banerjee win the battle of 2024? TMC leaders cheated in presidential elections

KOLKATA: NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu has been elected as the 15th President of the country. She defeated Yashwant Sinha, the joint candidate of the opposition. Draupadi Murmu got 2824 votes out of 4809 votes, while Yashwant Sinha could collect only 1877 votes. The special thing is that apart from NDA, some opposition parties also supported Draupadi Murmu. Not only this, there are some MPs and MLAs who voted in favour of Draupadi Murmu out of the party line.

The biggest setback has been suffered by West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee. In fact, in view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Mamata Banerjee is engaged in mobilising the entire opposition against the Modi government. It was Mamata Banerjee who had held talks with all parties to unite the opposition even in this presidential election. However, Yashwant Sinha's name was stamped after the names of several candidates were discussed. Yashwant Sinha had taken on the TMC some time ago. After which he resigned from the TMC and filed his nomination for the presidential election.

But, now the BJP claims that Mamata Banerjee's party TMC in West Bengal also witnessed a fierce cross-voting. BJP leader Amit Malviya tweeted that two Trinamool MPs and one MLA voted in favour of Draupadi Murmu. Not only this, the votes of two MPs and four MLAs of TMC have also been rejected. Amit Malviya said that Mamata Banerjee, who described herself as the basis of opposition unity, failed to woo her own MLAs and MPs. On the other hand, despite all the threats, all the BJP MLAs in Bengal voted for Draupadi Murmu. Now the question arises that, when Mamata Banerjee, who cherished the dream of becoming pm in 2024, could not keep the opposition united in the presidential election itself, how will she win the Lok Sabha?
