Former US President Donald Trump has revealed further proof of an impending presidential candidacy. According to a media report, Trump advisers have polled voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, five states that combined for 73 electoral votes in 2020, and a decisive Electoral College victory for Joe Biden.

In a Trump-Biden matchup in all five states, the former president is shown beating Biden by 8 percentage points in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, all of which were decided by less than 3 percentage points in 2020. The survey results are geared at Republican Party sceptics who believe Trump is losing his hold.

Biden has stated that he intends to seek for re-election. He, too, appears to be gearing up in the five states where Trump's team has concentrated its efforts, first for the midterm elections and then for the presidential election in 2024.
