India's blunt response to Russia-Ukraine conflict

Geneva: At the United Nations (UN) meeting on the Ukraine-Russia crisis, India stressed on resolving the issue peacefully. India said it does not support improving the situation through military tensions, but the issue can only be resolved through dialogue. Let us know that India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting on the Ukraine issue, T.S. Tirumurti had joined.

India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations T.S. Tirumurti said the rising tensions along Ukraine's border with Russia are a matter of deep concern. These developments have the potential to undermine the peace and security of the region. T.S. Tirumurti further said that we (India) appeal to all parties to exercise restraint and we are confident that this issue can be resolved only through diplomatic dialogue.

The Permanent Representative said that the safety of Indian citizens is essential and more than 20,000 Indian students and citizens live and study in different parts of Ukraine and border areas whose safety is our priority.
