Dharamshala: Today, the entire human race is trapped in crisis due to the rising of Corona. Every day, some or the other case of this virus is coming out. Meanwhile, the problems of some hospitals and doctors are also increasing. Due to coronavirus, the deteriorated TB (MDR stage) is not taking any care of the patients. The health department is only busy in dealing with the coronavirus. The work of sampling of MDR stage TB patients is almost completely stopped for the last 15 days.

According to the information received, the courier service carrying samples from the entire state to Dharampur Culture Lab of Solan is also stalled. Apart from MDR, there is no sampling of patients of other stages. The state has received 17434 cases of TB this year, of which 581 are in MDR stage. In this Kangra district, the maximum number of 115 patients are of MDR stage. Due to coronavirus, all the doctors and field staff of the health department are unable to give time to TB patients. There are problems in the treatment of TB patients. Only emergency services are available in most hospitals.

The sampling of TB patients is completely affected. If the time for curfew or lockdown increases after April 14, then TB patients may have to face further problems in such a situation. On the other hand, Tuberculosis Program Officer Dr. RK Sood said that the Health Department is arranging a vehicle to send samples of TB patients to Dharampur. Sampling work of TB patients will start from this week. The field staff of the area where the TB patients are, has been instructed to maintain contact with the patients.
