Twitter suspends more than 500 disputed accounts after govt's warning

New Delhi: The conflict between the Government of India and Twitter India is going on over many issues these days. The Central Government had raised some questions on Twitter regarding the disputed accounts and hashtags, the answers of which have now come out. It has been told by Twitter that the controversial hashtag has been removed from their side and the content related to it has also been removed.

The response from Twitter has been that they were asked by the Indian government to delete some accounts. But later, after investigation, when it was found that their content was as per Indian laws, they were restored. In its reply, Twitter has said that action has been taken on more than 500 accounts from our side, whose information has also been given to the government. Twitter has said that we will continue our conversation with the government even further.

The Twitter statement has also surfaced on the violence on 26 January. The statement said that since Republic Day, a lot of such content has been removed from Twitter, which violates the rules and works to spoil the atmosphere. During this time also 500 Twitter accounts were suspended, some hashtags were banned.
