New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered an address on the 20th anniversary of the State Wide Attention on Grievances (SWAGAT) in Gujarat today via video conferencing. The programme held in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minster  Bhupendra Patel, and the prime minister interacted with the beneficiaries of the scheme.

Highlighting the role of technology in good governance, PM said good governance happens through innovations and new ideas.

Speaking at the 20th anniversary of the SWAGAT  initiative in Gujarat via video conferencing, "Governance happens through innovations and new ideas. The SWAGAT initiative in Gujarat demonstrates how technology can be efficiently used to resolve people's grievances."

The Gujarati SWAGAT initiative is distinctive in that it uses technology to address social issues. The SWAGAT initiative ensured prompt resolution of the grievances of people. Even after two decades years, SWAGAT means ease of living and reach of governance," he added.

PM Modi interacted with the prior beneficiaries of the scheme. The programme was held in Gandhinagar in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

While serving as Gujarat's Chief Minister from April 2003 to May 2004, Narendra Modi introduced the Swagat online grievance redressal programme. The prime objective of the scheme was to resolve the grievances of citizens in an efficient and time-bound manner. The purpose of the effort was to bridge the gap between people and the government, leveraging on.
