Kathmandu: During an expedition Mount Kanchenjunga at a height of about 8000 metres, two Indians died. The two deceased belongs to Kolkata.

According to the report of news agency Reuters, two Indian climbers died near the summit of Mount Kanchenjunga during an expedition on the world’s third highest mountain, in Nepal, news agency Reuters reported.

As per the report, the deceased have been identified as Biplab Baidya, 48, and 46-year-old Kuntal Kanrar. The two climbers reportedly died overnight at a height of about 8000 metres. Citing Pasang Sherpa of the Peak Promotion hiking company, Reuters reported that Baidya died due to high altitude mountain sickness on the way down. Kanrar, on the other hand, died when he was trying to climb the peak. According to the repory, Baidya climbed 8,586 metres.
