Mumbai: Two people have died in a chemical factory explosion in Raigad district of Maharashtra late last night. 6 other people have been reported injured. The police arrived after receiving information about the incident and immediately got the injured admitted to the nearby hospital. Police say two people have been declared dead so far. It is not yet known how the explosion occurred.

The investigating officer in the case says that a blast occurred at a factory in Dheku of Sajgaon industrial area in Khopoli suburb, 70 km from Mumbai, around 2.30 pm, following which the premises caught fire. Talking about this, the official of the Khopoli police station said, "Two people died and six others were injured in this accident."

He has also told, 'Fire crews and policemen arrived on the spot and started the fire extinguishing and rescue operation'. In this regard, an official said that the work of extinguishing the fire was going on till morning. Before this, there was an explosion in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, due to which 12 people died due to the warehouse collapse. The fire department official, Jayesh Khadia, said that 12 people were taken out of the debris and taken to LG Hospital. Where four people died before reaching the hospital.
