Two terrorists killed in encounter in South Kashmir’s Anantnag District

SRINAGAR: On Thursday, two terrorists were killed in the encounter between terrorists and security forces in Bagender Mohalla of Bijbehara area in South Kashmir's Anantnag district. A search and cordon operation is currently underway. The encounter broke out in the wee hours of. To be noted that local police and security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in the area based on credible intelligence inputs. It is to be noted that during the search, terrorists fired upon the party. As per information received the fire was retaliated by the security forces leading to an encounter.

Here it is to be noted that incriminating material including arms and ammunition has been recovered from the site of encounter. Police have registered a case. It is worth mention here that the identities and affiliations of the terrorists who died in the encounter are being ascertained. Local police and security agencies requested citizens not to venture inside the encounter zone as exposure to explosive materials can prove dangerous.

However it is worth mention here that they added "People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosive materials if any,". To be noted that this comes five days after a civilian was injured near Jablipora village in Bijbehara town in Anantnag district on Saturday after terrorists opened fire. It is needed to mention here that the injured civilian was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
