Uddhav Thackeray, leader of the Shiv Sena, has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of corruption through the electoral bonds scheme. Speaking at a gathering in Mumbai's Colaba area, Thackeray highlighted that BJP received a staggering Rs 8,000 crore through these bonds, exposing their alleged hypocrisy in accusing Congress of looting the nation.

"The revelations regarding electoral bonds have unmasked the BJP's claims against the Congress. Will you trust the country's fate in the hands of those who loot? BJP seeks another term to plunder while promising a developed India," Thackeray addressed the crowd.

Thackeray also alleged coercion of corporates into making hefty donations to BJP under threat from investigative agencies like the CBI and ED. According to him, major companies were compelled to contribute to BJP through electoral bonds in exchange for contracts across the nation.

The Supreme Court recently invalidated the electoral bonds scheme, labeling it unconstitutional. The court has mandated the State Bank of India (SBI) to disclose a unique number for each electoral bond, revealing the connection between the buyer and the recipient political party.

Thackeray asserted that his government, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), was ousted because BJP couldn't engage in corruption when he was in power. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of favoring Gujarat over other states, diverting projects away from Maharashtra.

He also expressed pride in the coastal road project, initiated during his tenure and executed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Thackeray criticized assembly speaker Rahul Narwekar, likely to contest against Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant, and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, labeling them as traitors.

"The candidate from South Mumbai has switched between parties – from Shiv Sena to NCP to BJP. Show the strength of Shiv Sena when he comes seeking votes," Thackeray urged the audience.
