Mumbai: For Uddhav Thackeray, who has entered into an alliance with the Congress and NCP to gain power by compromising his ideology, tomorrow i.e. January 23 can be a difficult day. The reason is that Uddhav's tenure as Shiv Sena president is coming to an end. Shiv Sena is now divided into two factions. On one side is Uddhav Thackeray, and on the other side is Eknath Shinde's faction. Both factions claim to be the real Shiv Sena. The matter is being heard by the Election Commission and it has not yet given the Shiv Sena symbol to either of the two factions. In such a situation, Uddhav Thackeray will no longer be the head of Shiv Sena when the term ends.

Is Shiv Sena of Uddhav Thackeray or Eknath Shinde? This question was heard in the Election Commission on Friday (January 20). In this hearing, the counsel for the Uddhav Thackeray faction had requested to conduct the elections internally or maintain the current situation. The Election Commission has not said anything in this regard. The commission has ordered Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde to argue in writing their support by January 30. These arguments will be looked into by the Election Commission and only then a decision on the Shiv Sena's election symbol likely to come. In such a situation, Uddhav Thackeray will no longer be the head of Shiv Sena from tomorrow. Which is like a big shock for them.

Shiv Sena was formed by Balasaheb Thackeray. After his death, Uddhav Thackeray was elected shiv Sena chief in 2013 and again in 2018. Eknath Shinde faction claims in the Election Commission that there is no president of the party after Balasaheb. In such a situation, there seems to be a double problem in front of Uddhav. Shinde rebelled against Uddhav Thackeray in June 2022 and parted ways with 39 MLAs. After which the Shinde faction Shiv Sena formed the government in Maharashtra with the support of the BJP. 12 MPs of the Uddhav faction are also in favor of Eknath Shinde. Due to this, Uddhav is getting shocks on the shock.

Why is there a split in Shiv Sena?

It is said that many Shiv Sena MLAs, MPs, and other workers had turned against Uddhav Thackeray at the same time when he joined hands with the Congress for power. Because, Balasaheb Thackeray, who founded The Shiv Sena, clearly said that he will not ally with Congress under any circumstances. Even Balasaheb used to call former Congress President Sonia Gandhi an Italian mummy. Balasaheb wrote in an article in 2010 that whenever the country has been attacked by terrorists, the Shiv Sena's clear message has been that only Hindutva can unite people against it, but Congress is allergic to the name of Hindutva. "The respect you are getting today in the name of Shiv Sena, for Hindutva, for a saffron flag. There is absolutely no betrayal of it. In such a situation, when Uddhav went against his own father's promises and joined hands with the Congress for power, there was a rift in the Shiv Sena and today the situation is such that 39 MLAs, 12 MPs, and many councilors and workers have left Uddhav.
