Uddhav Thackeray had travelled to Ayodhya in November last year and sought to build a Ram temple at the disputed site ahead of the Lok Sabha elections of the year 2019. At that time, Shiv Sena had strained relations with its ally party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
