In fact, in the United Nations Security Council, the United States and Britain had given notice for an open debate on the Hong Kong case, but China objected, saying that the issue would not pose a threat to global peace and stability, then it was immediate and open. US Ambassador Kelly Kraft said, "Will we stand firm in Hong Kong for the human rights of the people or will continue to see atrocities being perpetrated by China."
