Umesh Yadav, who won a different position due to his sharp bowling in Test cricket for the Indian team, says that due to lack of training in his childhood, he also had to face humiliation. Umesh clearly stated during a Cricbuzz show that his cricket knowledge was low in the early stages of his career. He did not know that spike shoes are needed for bowling. Yadav shared an anecdote that when he was younger, he met Secretary of Cricket Board in a district level tournament. He asked him to come to Nagpur. Played the first match in Nagpur. Took eight wickets. After this, an invitation was received to be part of the top-30 time camp. As soon as he went there, he got a strong rebuke from the coach.

Umesh said that the coach called me and asked where my shoes are. I told him that I do not have spikes and I have to bowl in my normal shoes. He became very angry on hearing this. He said- how can you come here to play, you don't even have spikes. Go away from here.

Umesh said- "I was very angry at that time. I will never play cricket again. But then I did not give up. Everyone has to struggle to an extent. I will never say that my struggle has been greater than any other. I would just like to say that it is very important to trust in yourself."
