UNITED NATIONS: UN humanitarians say renewed gang fighting in Haiti's capital Port-au-Prince has killed 26 civilians, injured 22 more, and forced hundreds of others to flee their homes.

The  UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is  reportedly assisting the mayor's office of Tabarre and Haiti's Civil Protection Agency in delivering hot meals and dry goods. "Humanitarians prepared hygiene kits, blankets, kitchen kits, and baby kits while working on a strategy to evacuate families housed in spontaneous sites." According to the agency, the recent clashes occurred in the communes of Croix-des-Bouquets, Cite Soleil, Bas Delmas, and Martissant. Clashes in the commune of Croix-des-Bouquets are said to have displaced 1,200 residents.

According to the OCHA, the death toll will be substantially higher. In Marin, dozens of homes were burnt, schools, medical centres, and markets were closed, and a hospital was looted.

The displaced people, according to humanitarian organisations, require clean water, food, sanitation kits, children's and kitchen kits, mattresses, blankets, and clothing.

The international organisation stated that it is prepared to supply hot meals as well as further help to national authorities. A national coordination committee of UN agencies and non-governmental organisation (NGO) partners is led by Haiti's Civil Protection General Directorate.

Local NGOs, according to the OCHA, began psychosocial activities for children at the displaced areas, including as recreational activities, child-friendly learning spaces, and counselling.
