Palamu: Five teenagers were crushed to death by a speeding Scorpio in Bihar's border village Vishanpur in Naudiha Bazar police station area of Jharkhand's Palamu district on Thursday evening. Four of them died on the spot while another teenager and the driver were seriously injured. Both have been admitted to a government hospital for treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Vivek, Nitish, Feroz Ansari, and Ashish. The name of the injured teenager is Gaurav. The driver, Salim Khan, belongs to Dumariya. The injured were rushed to Palamu Medical College. After initial treatment, the family has taken them to another hospital. The condition of both the injured persons remains critical.
The family has alleged that the incident took place due to drunken driving and speeding. People recovered the car and set it on fire. There was a high-voltage drama on the spot. The family blocked the road for four hours in protest against the incident. Police reached the spot and pacified the situation. The family members are also demanding compensation.
