New Delhi: Thousands of farmers are protesting at the Punjab-Haryana border against the agricultural laws brought by the Central government. Farmers' organizations and farmers have started a 'Delhi Chalo' march today in protest against agricultural laws. The protesting farmers took a fierce stance after being stopped at the border, after which the police resorted to water cannons and tear gas shells while taking action.

Farmers protesting against agricultural laws have been invited for talks by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. He said that our government is with the farmers. It is working for the benefit of farmers. New agricultural laws were the need of the hour. This is going to bring a revolutionary change in the coming time. We have discussed at the Secretary level in Punjab to dispel the misconceptions of our peasant brothers.

They have said that we will talk to farmers on December 3. Urging the protesting farmers not to agitate, Narendra Singh Tomar said, "We are ready to talk and resolve differences with respect to issues. I believe that our dialogue will have positive results." Thousands of protesting farmers gathered at various places on the border of Haryana in Punjab on Thursday amid growing tension against the agricultural law.
