New Delhi: Union Minister Anurag Thakur criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for evading the ED's summons repeatedly. Thakur questioned the AAP's commitment to honesty given Kejriwal's repeated absences from the Enforcement Directorate's questioning.

Thakur highlighted that the Enforcement Directorate has continuously summoned Kejriwal, yet the Delhi Chief Minister has consistently found reasons to avoid appearing for the interrogation.

On Wednesday, Kejriwal missed his third scheduled appearance before the ED concerning a money laundering case linked to an excise policy. The AAP has claimed that the frequent summonses are a deliberate strategy to hinder Kejriwal's participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Thakur expressed suspicion about Kejriwal's intentions, stating, "What is Kejriwal trying to hide? Something is certainly amiss." He went on to criticize the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), noting a stark difference between their earlier stance on honesty and the current scenario. Thakur remarked that several members of the AAP, including their deputy chief minister and various ministers, are currently imprisoned on corruption charges.

Highlighting the Modi government's dedication to transparency and accountability, Thakur quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has pledged neither to accept bribes nor to permit bribery within his administration. Thakur praised the government's efforts over the past decade in promoting transparency.

Furthermore, Thakur emphasized the independent actions of investigative agencies, asserting that they have consistently taken stringent measures against corrupt politicians, businessmen, and officials.
