Sheopur: The situation in flood-affected Sheopur city of Madhya Pradesh is still not good. So far, several Ministers have visited here and now Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, who visited the previous day, had to be burnt. In fact, when he visited last Saturday, he was surrounded by angry locals, and mud was thrown at his convoy. Let me tell all of you that Sheopur is part of Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar's Morena Lok Sabha constituency in North Madhya Pradesh, which received heavy rains earlier this week.

When Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar visited The City's Karatia Bazaar last Saturday to meet the flood victims, people got angry and started making fun of them. After that, the people there said that he had come too late. "As soon as he got down from his car and consoled some people, including the weeping women, people chased his convoy. People threw mud and small dry sticks at the vehicles," said eyewitnesses.

Meanwhile, people also complained to Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar that he was not alerted about the floods on time and it was a failure of the district administration. On the other hand, Sheopur Superintendent of Police Sampath Upadhyay said, "People complained to the minister that relief reached him late. "But no vehicle in his convoy was damaged," SP also said. Talking to reporters after leaving, the Union Minister admitted that the administration was lax, but added, "The confusion arising out of rumors of a dam collapse also created a problem.''

The Minister also assured that "all help will be provided to the district.'' Let us also tell you that earlier this week, at least 24 people died due to rain in the Chambal-Gwalior region of north Madhya Pradesh, though thousands of people were evacuated safely.
