India: A unique geographical phenomenon was seen today in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh. in which a big round ring surrounded the sun from all sides. This geographical phenomenon is scientifically known as Solar HALO. same situation in night Known as Lunar HALO

Why do halos occur?

Every year  numerous people who have just seen a sizable ring or circle of light encircling the sun or moon. They are known as 22-degree halos by scientists. They get their name from the fact that the sun's or moon's orbit has a 22-degree radius.

The old saying "ring around the moon" indicates impending precipitation This adage is accurate because storms frequently precede high cirrus clouds. Observe how the sky appears to be mostly clear in these pictures. You can still see the sun and moon, after all. Halos, however, are a sign of high, thin cirrus clouds drifting at least 20,000 feet (6 kilometres) above our heads.

The ice crystals in these clouds number in the millions. Both refraction, or the splitting of light and reflection or the glints of light from these ice crystals, result in the halos. For the halo to appear, the crystals must be positioned and oriented precisely with respect to your eye.

Because of this, halos around the sun or moon are subjective, just like rainbows. Each person sees their own unique halo, which is created by unique ice crystals that are distinct from the ice crystals creating the halo of the person next to you.

When taking pictures of solar haloes, be cautious. Directly facing the sun with a camera can cause damage. Even when it can be seen through clouds, you should never look directly at the sun.
