Lorenzo Musetti gave Italy a perfect start in the United Cup City Final, in Brisbane on Wednesday when he cruised past Poland's Daniel Michalski.

The 2-time Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour titlist and Next Gen ATP Finals alumnus was in full control on Pat Rafter Arena, showing his class in a 6-1, 6-1 win against the World No. 260. The Italian lost just three service points in his 58-minute victory.

The two-time ATP Tour champion and former participant in the Next Gen ATP Finals was in complete command at Pat Rafter Arena as he defeated the World No. 260 6-1, 6-1. In 58 minutes, the Italian won with just three service points dropped.

"Of course, the serve performed fantastically. But I do mean that from the moment the ball touched the court until the final shot, I felt wonderful about it. I believe I gave the best performance of the year, "Musetti SAID.
When left-handed Martina Trevisan, ranked 27th in the world and a semifinalist at Roland Garros in 2017, approaches the court against WTA World No. 1 Iga Swiatek, Poland will try to promptly retaliate.
The first match of the night session will be the No. 1 men's singles match between 2021 ATP Finals rivals Hubert Hurkacz and Matteo Berrettini.

From the initial point of contact with Michalski, Musetti exuded confidence as he waved his racquet about the court like a magic wand. Early on, Michalski had trouble getting into a rhythm, which allowed the World No. 23 to play from the lead and never give it up.

"Today, I was moving with my feet quite quickly, and I believe that's important to my game. I was really hot from that angle today, therefore I was able to effectively manage the match "Musetti said.

At the first United Cup, the Italian is now 3-0. Viktor Durasovic of Norway and Felipe Meligeni Alves of Brazil both lost in straight sets to Musetti.
