Ganga Aarti at Rishikesh Triveni Ghat will start from today. Following the rules of social distancing, a limited number of people will be able to participate in the aarti here. Ganga Aarti will have to be completed before seven in the evening. Apart from this, the markets will open from seven in the morning till seven in the evening. This decision was taken in a meeting between the top officials of administration, police and other departments in the Tehsil office on the instructions of the District Magistrate Dehradun. During this time many issues related to the visit of devotees in temples, the safety of health workers etc. were also discussed.

Deputy Collector Premlal said that in view of the severity of the corona epidemic, the involvement of people in the Ganga Aarti in the Triveni Ghat in the past was completely banned.  On the instructions of the District Magistrate, it has been decided to restart the Ganga Aarti by the Ganga Sabha Rishikesh at Triveni Ghat. He told that a limited number of people will be able to join Aarti by following the rules of social distancing. People over 65 years of age, pregnant women and children will not be able to attend. Also, Prasad will not be distributed in Aarti.

It will be necessary to sanitize the hands of every person involved. Apart from this, it has been decided to shift the health workers posted in Corona duty to hotels, following the rules of social distancing in the temples and directed not to offer water, flowers etc. Instructions have been given to continue the system of sanitizing the area as before. IAS Coordinator Apoorva Pandey, Kotwal Ritesh Shah, Sub-Inspector Kuldeep Rawat, Chandreshwar Mahadev Temple Manager Mahant Akhilesh Bharti was present in the meeting.
