Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh is getting into the yatra mode by rolling out 6 yatras that will pass through all 403 Assembly constituencies in U.P that goes to the polls early next year.
Vidya Sagar Sonkar, a Dalit leader in the party, will coordinate the yatras, which will begin on December 7. They would most likely begin in six distinct locations, one from each of the six organisational zones, and conclude in Lucknow with a rally, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address. "The leaders who will lead these yatras have yet to be determined," the BJP leader stated, "but the motorised chariots will have cutouts of Modi and Yogi, who remain our star campaigners."
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the BJP's ideological mentor, will also be involved in mobilising the public for these yatras, which will focus on the 78 seats that the BJP lost in the 2017 elections. The party will also concentrate on areas where there is a strong anti-incumbency sentiment.
