In fact, Swami Prasad Maurya has resigned as a cabinet minister in UP. Swami Prasad Maurya has sent his resignation to Governor Anandiben Patel. It is being reported that he may soon quit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and join the Samajwadi Party (SP).

In his resignation letter sent to UP Governor Anandiben Patel, Cabinet Minister Swami Prasad Maurya said that, 'As Minister of Labor and Employment and Coordination, despite living in adversity and ideology, he has discharged the responsibility very diligently, but Dalits I resign from the cabinet of Uttar Pradesh because of the gross neglectful attitude of the backward, farmers, unemployed youth and small-small and medium-scale traders.
