Lucknow: The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has distributed election symbols to its candidates on Monday for the Baghpat district body elections in Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party (SP), while making a big announcement on Tuesday, has said that it will not contest the elections for the post of president in Barot and Baghpat. In fact, the party will support RLD on both of these seats.

On Tuesday, a post was posted from the official Twitter handle of the SP, which stated that the SP would not contest for the post of president in the local municipal elections in Baraut and Baghpat and would instead support the RLD. On the other hand, if we talk about RLD, then Jayant Chaudhary's party has distributed election symbols to the candidates in most of the seats. Along with this, instructions have been given to the workers to start preparing for the elections. RLD has fielded Rajuddin Advocate, an ex-president from Baghpat municipality, and Ranjita Dhama from Khekra municipality as its candidates for the post of president. On Monday, RLD District President Rampal Dhama handed over the symbols for the body elections to Baghpat Municipality candidates Rajuddin Advocate and Khekra.

Let us tell you that the nomination process for the civic body elections has started on Monday. There was a strict security arrangement in all three taluks regarding this. On the first day, not a single nomination paper was filed. Information has come to light that 42 nomination papers for the post of president and 256 nomination papers for the post of corporator were bought.
