Lucknow: In a comprehensive move, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh meticulously evaluated the arrangements made by officials to maintain law and order during the impending religious celebrations within the state. Affirming the importance of joyful and well-organized festivals throughout the region, the Chief Minister urged the administration to ensure their smooth execution, as per an official statement.

The review session saw the presence of police commissioners, divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and police superintendents.

The Chief Minister advocated for field officers to establish an open channel of communication with the public, encouraging them to conduct public hearings at the district level. He pressed for prompt resolution of public grievances, discouraging any unnecessary delays.

Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the harmonious observance of festivals hinges on cohesive teamwork, continuous communication, and collective efforts across all sectors, underscoring the need to maintain this collaborative spirit.

With the significant dates of August 30 and 31 coinciding with the auspicious occasion of 'Raksha Bandhan', Chief Minister Yogi highlighted the directive that the transport department and city bus services offer free transportation for women from midnight on August 29 to midnight on August 31. The safety of passengers, ensuring sobriety of drivers and conductors, and maintaining the bus fleet's good condition were emphasized.

Furthermore, higher-ranking officers, spanning from local police stations to district, range, and zone levels, were entrusted with the pivotal responsibility of safeguarding women at all locations. Stringent actions were advised against individuals posing threats to women's security.

Recognizing the festival season's sensitivity in terms of law and order, the Chief Minister stressed the necessity of remaining vigilant and cautious. He stressed that diligent efforts, tailored to local needs, are indispensable to ensure peaceful and harmonious celebrations. The Chief Minister warned against the potential escalation of minor incidents due to negligence, urging heightened vigilance.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the upcoming festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami on September 6–7, along with the Chehallum procession scheduled for September 7. He called for spirited celebrations of Shri Krishna Janmashtami across all police stations, police lines, and jails in the state.

Yogi Adityanath disclosed plans for 1,256 processions across the state and 3,005 parades for Chehallum. He stressed the importance of consulting with organizers and religious leaders, allowing only traditional processions and parades at distinct intervals. During these events, the display of weapons was strictly prohibited.

Ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply during festivals was emphasized, alongside heightened security measures due to the upcoming G-20 summit, which would be attended by numerous national leaders.

In the same vein, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called for stringent action against cow slaughter and smuggling. He urged authorities to monitor recently released mafia members and prevent stray cattle from cluttering the roads. He further mandated timely financial support to cow shelters.

The Chief Minister directed a campaign at the Tehsil level to review cases of land inheritance ('varasat'). He urged coordinated actions against illegal bus and taxi stands, known to impede smooth transportation.

With the Excise Department in focus, the Chief Minister called for a crackdown on illegal and adulterated liquor. Immediate action was expected against those found engaging in such activities. He also stressed on preventive measures against rain and flood situations, involving fogging and anti-larvae spraying, along with financial assistance of Rs. 4 lakh for flood-related casualties.
