Saharanpur: There have been several protests and discussions over the critical situation of farmers in the country. But there is no significant change in their position. There is no decline in farmers' suicides in the country. A report from Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh has been reported in this link. Here, a debt-ridden farmer has announced to sell his kidneys by putting up posters in some places in the city. Meanwhile, Saharanpur Mandal Commissioner Sanjay Kumar has said that the actual situation will be clear only after the investigation in the case.

Ramkumar, a resident of Satrasali village under Saraswa police station area of the district, said that he had trained dairy farming under the Prime Minister's Skill Development Scheme. Despite having a certificate of training, he did not get a loan from any government bank. He said that after not getting the loan from the banks, he took loans from his relatives and acquaintances and bought the cattle and built sheds for them. He claimed that the borrowers are now asking for their money, including interest, from him.

Ramkumar claimed that he did not have the money to repay the loan and under pressure, he had no way but to sell his kidney. So, he has put up posters selling his kidneys. Asked about his response, Saharanpur Mandal Commissioner Sanjay Kumar said, the matter has come to his knowledge.

He said, he will examine the level at which the loan was not disbursed by the bank to the farmer. He said, "The situation will be clear only after investigation as to why the loan has not been disbursed by the bank to Kisan Ramkumar." Despite all the debt waiver schemes, there has been no expected change in the condition of the farmers.
