Uttar Pradesh: On Monday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath started the 'School Chalo Abhiyan' in Shravasti district to ensure that all basic and upper elementary schools in the state are fully enrolled. The School Chalo Abhiyan initiative is being launched in the Shravasti district of Uttar Pradesh, which has the state's lowest literacy rate, followed by Bahraich, Balrampur, Badaun, and Rampur.

Adityanath emphasised the significance of education, saying, "Education is essential for a country's development, especially among the younger generation. It is our responsibility to the country to educate the children, and students should be sent to school for this purpose." He also stated that for the following month, staff will knock on doors and inquire whether any children have been denied access to education. That children will be taken to school and registered, and uniforms, books, and backpacks will be provided to those students.

He believes that departmental authorities should launch a campaign to work with alumni (of government schools) and private companies to improve state-run schools.  The basic education department has also been given orders to prepare for the abhiyan and guarantee that teachers are deployed in all state-run schools, according to Adityanath.  According to the press release, the initiative would supply students with uniforms, shoes, and socks.
