Lucknow: A case of kidnapping and forcibly converting a girl and forcibly marrying her has once again come to light from Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh. It is being told that the girl studies in B.Com and the accused Arif trapped the student in his trap and kidnapped her and then converted to Islam and forcibly married her. In this case of love jihad, the police have arrested the accused and recovered the girl.
The case pertains to the Rasulpur police station area of the district. On April 25, 2022, a Hindu girl from the area had gone to her school with her brother for some work. During that time, Arif came and lured the student away with him. Arif is a resident of Akashvani Road under the Ramgarh police station area. After the sister left with the other young man, the brother told his family about it. After this, the girl's family started searching for her, but she was nowhere to be found. Finally, the student's father went to the police station and lodged a complaint with the police and named Arif. Following which, a case was registered against the accused under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Religious Conversion Act, 2021.
On the basis of the FIR, the police started conducting continuous raids to arrest Arif, but he did not come anywhere. Meanwhile, on Thursday (May 5, 2022), the police received secret information about Arif from the informer. Acting on a tip-off, the police nabbed Arif from near the intervening culvert and also recovered the student on his trail. After the arrest, the police questioned Arif. During interrogation, Arif informed the police that he had married the student after making her a Muslim. However, he did not show any documents relating to religious conversion.
CO (City) Hari Mohan Singh said that the family members of the student were very worried about the disappearance of the degree college student and they had raised doubts about the youth. Based on this, the student's father filed a case. On the basis of the complaint, the accused has been arrested. The student is being produced before the court after getting medical treatment.
