Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district, a landlord locked the Sakouti branch of the District Co-operative Bank due to non-payment of rent. The landlord says that the lock will not open until the full rent is paid. The lock of the bank was opened after much persuasion by the chairman of the district co-operative bank. Kiran Pal Singh, a resident of Sakoti on the Delhi-Haridwar National Highway-58, about 30 km from the city, had rented out his building to the cooperative bank. It is being told that for the last 8 years, there was a dispute between the bank and the building owner over rent and agreement.

On Wednesday, when the rent was not received, the landlord Kiran Pal put his lock on the gate of the bank. The customers who came to the bank after the lock had to face a lot of trouble. Kiran Pal Singh says that the house was given on rent in 2007, the agreement of which has also expired. He applied to the bank several times, but he did not give any importance. Landlord Kiran Pal Singh alleges that the agreement rent was to be increased, but on the contrary, the bank reduced the rent. I am tired of writing applications to these people, but no one listened to me. The bank has given 6 lakh rupees and 54 thousand tax was deducted in it, while no interest was also paid because the rent was not received for a long time. They were not even answering my words, so I locked them.

The bank officials complained to the higher authorities about the locking, but there was no help. After which the bank manager explained a lot, but the building owner said, "First, I need the rent money." Then the bank gave them Rs 6 lakh. The owner said that 54 thousand rupees from my rent were stopped saying that I would deduct 54 thousand rupees as tax.'' However, after which the lock was opened after much persuasion by the chairman of the District Co-operative Bank, Maninder Pal Singh.
