Lucknow: A policeman in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur has been accused of rape. According to the complaint, the policeman raped the woman in the name of giving her a job. The victim said that she had lodged an FIR in this regard, but no action was taken against the accused. Now she is being pressured to withdraw the complaint. In such a situation, the case of the victim is going to be fought by the lawyer, who herself has once been a victim of rape.
The victim said, "Avinash Gautam and I got in touch on Facebook. During this time, he tricked me into bringing a job. He took me to a hotel on the pretext of an interview. There the soldier raped me. During this time, he made obscene videos and threatened that if she told anyone anything, he would put the video on the internet.'' The woman said that the accused constable is posted in Rae Bareli, but he came to Kanpur and raped her several times by threatening to make the video viral. He had filed an FIR in the case on June 23. Now the accused is threatening her to withdraw the complaint. There is no help from the police either.
In such a situation, a woman lawyer has come forward to get justice for the victim. Ten years ago, deputy SP Amarjeet Shahi raped the woman lawyer. Amarjeet Shahi was jailed for 10 years in this case. The lawyer says, "I know of this pain. The police are not arresting the constable even after registering an FIR. I will fight this victim's case for free.''
