Lucknow: After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled Gujarat and Uttarakhand, the rates of increased traffic challans under the Motor Vehicle Act 2019 are also likely to be reduced in Uttar Pradesh. The people of UP can get relief soon from the increased traffic fines. The state transport department is preparing an amendment proposal regarding this. There is a plan to present the amendment proposal in the cabinet meeting soon.

If it is approved by the cabinet, then the new rates of traffic challan will be implemented in the state soon. Actually, there is an outcry across the country regarding the Motor Vehicle Act 2019. Meanwhile, in Gujarat-ruled Uttarakhand after Gujarat, the government has decided to reduce the amount of proposed traffic challan from 50 to 75 per cent.

The government of Trivendra Singh Rawat of Uttarakhand has changed this amount to 2500, giving a discount on driving a vehicle without a license. The central government had increased the penalty of 500 rupees for driving unlicensed vehicles to 5,000. Apart from this, a fine of Rs 5,000 will be charged instead of 10,000 in the state if you are found to be driving the vehicle even after the license is cancelled. At the same time, a fine of Rs 1000 will be charged for driving the vehicle while talking on mobile and Rs 5,000 for the second time.
