Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, a political battle has erupted over the Yogi government's decision to include 17 castes in the SC category. BSP supremo Mayawati and Subhaspa National President Om Prakash Rajbhar have targeted the Yogi government. Mayawati has said that the Yogi government has cheated 17 castes and acted to blow up the Constitution. Now, these 17 castes will fall into the general category.

On the other hand, OP Rajbhar said that by misleading these 17 castes, the Yogi government is preparing to gather votes in the assembly by-elections in UP. "Part two of Article 341 of the Constitution says that Parliament has the power to change the notification," Mayawati told the press on Monday. The Yogi government's order is completely illegal and unconstitutional. The government is well aware that 17 castes will not be able to get this benefit, yet they have done so. '

"The Yogi government is only deceiving 17 castes just like the previous Akhilesh government. These 17 castes will now fall under the general category as the Yogi government has removed these 17 castes from the OBCs. Mayawati said that our party had opposed this kind of order earlier. Our party had also asked the then Congress government at the Centre to add these 17 castes to the SC category during the tenure of its government in 2007. At the same time, the SC quota was also urged to be increased.
