Lucknow: In the last few days, the debate over the actions of Christian missionaries across the country has been on the rise over time. The latest case is of Kartalpur in the Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. According to media reports, Ram Chandra, a resident of Hukulganj in Varanasi, lured with money to convert to Christianity, has been arrested by the police on Tuesday (August 31, 2021). Ram Chandra is accused of inciting women and distributing books of Christian society to them.

The inspector-in-charge said that section 273/2009 was registered against the accused. An FIR has been registered under 21, 298/504. With this, the search is on for others involved in the gang. Police said investigations are on to as many as to how many people have been converted to Christianity so far. Inspector-in-charge Brahmadin Pandey said, "Based on the complaint of Jittu Sonkar, a resident of Sarai Mandraj village, the police have arrested the accused. He had been pressurizing the poor family members in Kartalpur to convert for the past several months.''

According to reports, the accused Ram Chandra used to target poor and Dalit women. He used to lure women with Rs.500 and ask them to abuse Hindu-deities. At the same time, he used to tell women that if they convert to Christianity, Jesus will remove the poverty of you people.
