Minister of State for Women Empowerment and Child Development Rekha Arya has directed the departmental secretary to remove Sujatha Singh, deputy director, from the post at the headquarters of Women Empowerment and Child Development Department. The former High Court judge has been asked to investigate his entire service from 1992 till now. Minister of State Arya has also stopped her financial rights by attaching the concerned officer to the post of principal in the women's hostel Haridwar. Arya told that the woman officer has had many allegations of corruption since 1992. Whenever her posting was done in the mountain, she took charge there, but after some time she was again transferred to Dehradun. Apart from this, she remained missing from the department for 255 days without being told.
The woman officer is also accused of irregularities in inviting tenders. In which instructions were taken from the Lokayukta, but no action has been taken so far. It is said that while holding the post of Program Officer in the year 2008 at the headquarters, the accused officer had asked to distribute salt of the expiry date of about one crore rupees in a week. Which played with the lives of young children and pregnant women. While they were informed by the District Program Officer Nainital that the salt is of the expiry date, which should be refunded. Reported that there were many complaints against the officer concerned. Those who were taken seriously said that there have been several orders of action against the accused officer at the government level, but the accused has had such an effect that no action has been taken so far.
Along with the investigation, the lump sum CR (character entries) of the accused woman officer has also been cancelled. What is being said about me is wrong. It is not that I am the first officer in the department who is being harassed, some other officers are being harassed in the same way. Some officers have even left the department.
