Dehradun: For a long time, opposition and controversy have intensified in the state government departments to lift the ban and keep the ban on promotions. Both these organizations are showing sharp attitude towards promotion. On the one hand, the Uttarakhand General OBC Employees Association is demanding immediate lifting of the ban, on the other hand, the Uttarakhand SC-ST Employees Federation is demanding no DPC till the final verdict is received from the court.

Government should immediately remove the ban on promotions in departments: According to information, Uttarakhand General OBC Employees Association has demanded immediate removal of the ban on promotions in all departments. On this demand, the delegation of the Association met Additional Chief Secretary (Personnel and Vigilance) Radha Raturi at the State Secretariat on Wednesday and requested her that she should issue instructions to lift the ban on promotions.

The matter is in the court, cannot be lifted by government federation: Sources say that Uttarakhand SC-ST Employees Federation has strongly opposed the lifting of ban on promotion. Federation's state president Karam Ram said that the matter of reservation in promotion is under consideration in the court and until a final decision is reached from the court, the state government will not be able to lift the ban on promotion.

Reconsideration petition filed in Supreme Court: It is also being said that the state government has filed a review petition challenging the order passed on 15 November 2019 in the case of Gyanchand vs Uttarakhand and others. In the Supreme Court, the State Government's Standing Council Vanshaja Shukla said that the SLP was filed on Tuesday itself.
