Due to the negligence of the government machinery, the VRS of five employees was decided after 16 years. All five of these employees worked at Kumtran Limited. The company closed in the year 1999, but since 2004, their VRS file could not be decided. Now they are relieved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. The cabinet has also raised strong objections to keeping the case hanging for so long. During the time of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, the government undertaking Kumtran Limited was established in Almora. It was discontinued in 1999 before the formation of Uttarakhand.

After this, 11 regular employees working in this institute have not been accommodated in any other department due to indecision. In the year 2004, it was decided to adjust them to other departments or give VRS. After this, six employees agreed to the adjustment in the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, while five employees gave consent for VRS. Government Spokesperson Madan Kaushik said that it was with the five employees RK Sharma, BK Joshi, BS Kanwar, Sunil Kumar and Mohammed that they should be given VRS from 1999 to 2004.

For your information, let us tell you that the company said that when the company was closed, the benefit of five years could not be given, while the employees kept saying that they used to come in the company. The situation was not clear in getting the matter investigated. After 16 years, when this matter came to the cabinet, the cabinet decided that their unpaid period should be included in the service and given the benefit of VRS. This has brought them great relief. Kaushik said that the cabinet raised a strong objection to why it took so many years to take this decision. It was also cautioned for the future that such issues should not remain indefinite for so long.
