Dehradun: Recently, 6.73 lakh pensioners, widows and old persons of Uttarakhand will get the benefit of increased pension from the month of January 2020. The Social Welfare Department has sent a proposal for pension increase to the Finance Department. The proposal is expected to be approved soon from the Finance Department. The department has prepared and sent a proposal of Rs 41.37 crore for the months of January, February and March. That is, there will be an increased pension in the account of pensioners from January 2020. After the proposal is approved, the monthly pension will increase to Rs 1200 per month.
According to the information received from the sources, let us tell you that apart from this, the department has also sent a proposal to the Finance Department for the provision of increased pension in the new financial year. On the progress of the proposal from the Finance Department, Additional Secretary Social Welfare Dr. Ram Vilas Yadav has said that he is not yet aware of its progress. You will get information about it on Monday.
The Chief Minister had made the announcement : At the same time, information has been received that CM Trivendra Singh Rawat had announced an increase of Rs 200 in pension on the State Foundation Day. Currently, a pension of 1000 rupees is being given to pensioners in the state. Under the old age scheme, the central government contributes 200 rupees per pensioner per month. The state government gives 800 rupees on its behalf. In the Divyang and Widow Pension Scheme, the central contribution is Rs 300 per pensioner per month.
Number of pensioners: 441264 are aged pensioners in the state, 157246 are widow pensioners, 75389 are disabled pensioners.
