Dehradun: Apart from Corona, several other cases are also being reported from the country day in and day out. After a long agitation and the failure of the nearly 10-hour meeting held in the Secretariat, the employees have now decided to go on strike. In fact, the energy department employees had been agitating since 2017 over their 14-point demands, which also led to a meeting between employees and the government at different levels.

On May 27, 2021, the employees called for a strike on their 14-point demands and sent a letter to the level. Under which the workers decided to go on strike from midnight if their demands were not resolved. For which night duty in power substations and hydropower projects has also been stopped.

At the same time, about 4,000 energy workers have gone on indefinite strike. The employees said they will not come back to work unless all their demands are met. The employees have started strike over 14 demands like pay anomaly, equal work equal pay, allowances, and ACP. On the other hand, the Secretariat Employees' Federation along with Electricity Employees Federation of India President Shailendra Dubey has also supported the demands of the power workers as justified.
