A truck crashed on the Yamunotri highway in Barkot in Uttarkashi district on Friday morning. According to the information, a truck fell into the ditch at around 9.30 am today. Three people were in the truck. All three are local. The truck was returning from Janaki Chatti. On the way, this accident took place near the bridge between Phoolchatti and Jankichatti.

SDRF personnel arrived on the spot after getting information about the incident and relief rescue work was started. A dead body has been recovered, along with the search for the other two. A 50-year-old man from Manjiali died after being hit by a stone slab on the Thali road in Nagaon, Uttarkashi.

The police have left for the spot of the incident, while the debris at the ghat in Pithoragarh has been closed. Many vehicles going to Haldwani and Tanakpur are stuck here. Apart from this, due to work on the perennial road, debris has come up at many places on the route. The debris is being removed by JCB.
