Dehradun: Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in several states of the country. Several parts of the state including the capital Dehradun are sunny and cloudy. No alert has also been issued by the MET department. Rain is accompanied by thundershowers in the sky in the Yamuna Valley including Yamunotri Dham late in the night. This has led to cold weather conditions. But as early as the morning, the weather cleared and the sun lit up. Devotees from Jankichatti left for Yamunotri Dham with pleasant weather.

Meanwhile, the weather is clear in the Rudraprayag district. With this, the Kedarnath yatra route has also started. The weather is also clear in Chamoli. The clear weather will make the yatra easier for devotees. 455 pilgrims have reached Badrinath Dham from 6 am to 9 am. These days devotees are reaching Badrinath Dham in large figures for Pitra Tarpan. On Rishikesh Gangotri Highway, 11 rural roads in Tehri district are blocked for traffic.

While the weather is clear in Garhwal, many areas of Kumaon are cloudy. Cold winds are also blowing in Pithoragarh, Tanakpur, Lohaghat and other areas. The 99 MW Singoli-Bhatwari hydropower project constructed on the Mandakini river has been hit by waterlogging in the barrage of Rudraprayag-Gaurikund highway. In many places, the lower part of the road is falling. This leads to an accident crisis all the time. Residents of Bhainsari village have demanded immediate action from the government, administration and L&T in the matter.
