Dehradun: Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand and the weather is still dry in the same state but it may change again from Saturday. The MET department has predicted light rain in five districts including Dehradun. However, today means the weather is likely to be normal in the state on Friday. In Uttarakhand, heavy rain wreaked havoc between last Sunday and Tuesday. Kumaon suffered heavy loss of life and property. However, even in the hilly areas of Garhwal, the common man faced a lot of problems.

The same record rainfall in October had led to a sudden disaster. However, the weather has now given some relief. The weather remained normal in most areas including Dehradun throughout the day on Thursday. In the afternoon, clouds started hovering once again in some areas and there was a drizzle.

According to Bikram Singh, director of the same Meteorological Centre, the weather will be dry in most parts of the state today but the weather may change from Saturday. This may lead to light rainfall at isolated places over Dehradun, Haridwar, Uttarkashi, Nainital and Champawat. This may lead to a drop in temperature. At present, the temperature in most of the districts remains above normal. After four days, the Chardham Yatra has finally become stable. Passenger vehicles stranded in Dham were evacuated after the Badrinath highway opened near Vishnuprayag on Thursday. Thereafter, vehicles were sent to Badrinath Dham in the afternoon.
