Uttarakhand, A state in northern India crossed by the Himalayas, is known for its Hindu pilgrimage sites. Rishikesh, A major center for yoga study, was made famous by the Beatles’ 1968 visit. The city hosts the evening Ganga aarti, a spiritual gathering on the sacred ganges river. The state's forested Jim Corbett national park shelters Bengal tigers and other native wildlife. AULI, DHANAULTI, DEHRADUN, MUSSOORIE, MUKTESHWAR, NAINITAL, BHIMTAL, RANIKHET, AND CHOPTA are some of the best places one can visit in Uttarakhand.

AULI:- Himalayan ski resort and hill station in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand. it’s surrounded by coniferous and oak forests, plus the nanda devi and nar parvat mountains. A long cable car links Auli to the town of Joshimath. North of Auli is the colorful Badrinath temple, a Hindu pilgrimage site, and the Valley of flowers national park, with its alpine flora and wildlife like snow leopards and red foxes. The primary attraction for tourists in the place is snow skiing and the best time for it is from November to March.

The months from May to November offer tourists a cool and pleasant climate. The small yet picture-perfect town of Auli is India's premier ski resort destination. Originally developed as a paramilitary base, Auli's skiing slopes are popular among tourists and professionals alike. in winter, auli hosts several snow adventure events.  

DHANAULTI:- Dhanaulti is a quiet hill station at an elevation of 2286 meters above sea level, it offers panoramic views of the lofty Himalayas. Situated in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range located 115 km from New Tehri, the district headquarters, is 60 km from the hill station of Mussoorie. Dhanaulti is known for its scenic landscapes and natural beauty. It is an offbeat hill station in Uttarakhand and features a relaxing vibe, ideal to plan a holiday. Winters in Dhanaulti start in November and continue up to February. During this time, temperatures remain quite low with the maximum temperature in the region being around 7°c and the minimum temperature recorded as 1°c. Winter is considered as the best time for traveling.

DEHRADUN:- Dehradun is the capital of the Indian state of Uttarakhand, near the Himalayan foothills. At its core is the 6-sided ghanta ghar clock tower. To the southwest is paltan bazaar, a busy shopping area. just east is the Sikh temple gurdwara namaskar, topped with ornate white and golden domes. In clement town to the city’s southwest, the mind-rolling monastery is a tibetan buddhist center with shrine rooms in its great stupa.  March to June is when most people flock to Dehradun since the weather is pleasant and clear and is best to enjoy the sights and indulge in adventure activities. The maximum temperature during this time is 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum is 17 degrees Celsius. It's One Of The Most Popular Hill-Stations In India.

MUSSOORIE:- Mussoorie is a hill station and a municipal board, near Dehradun city in the Dehradun district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is about 35 kilometers from the state capital of Dehradun and 290 km north of the national capital of new Delhi. The hill station is in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range. Mussoorie, the queen of hill stations, is famous for its scenic beauty, good social life, and entertainment.

The excellent climate makes it an attractive holiday resort. Thronged by holidayers, it vibrates with gaiety and merry-making during the summer season. Mussoorie, also known as Queen of the Hills, is among the most popular hill stations in the country. A Britisher, Captain Frederick Young, accompanied by an official named FJ Shore, had climbed up the hill from the Doon Valley in 1827 and found this ridge offering great views and a salubrious climate. This visit laid the foundation for this grand hill station. 

MUKTESHWAR:-  Mukteshwar is famous for its breezy waterfalls such as The Bhalu Ghaad, Tarikhet waterfalls, Rudradhari waterfall, and Dhokaney waterfalls. The sunrise point is at the government-run PWD guest house. Another tourist attraction is the small Satoli Village, situated just 21 km from Mukteshwar. Mukteshwar is a great place to visit, especially for those living in the north. Lots of people from the cities of Delhi, Dehradun, and Chandigarh come here. Travelers looking for a relatively offbeat hill station in Uttarakhand should visit here.

 

NAINITAL:- Nainital is a Himalayan resort town in the Kumaon region of India’s Uttarakhand state, at an elevation of roughly 2,000m. Formerly a British hill station, it’s set around Nainital Lake, a popular boating site with Naina Devi Hindu Temple on its north shore. A cable car runs to the Snow View observation point at 2,270m, with vistas over the town and mountains including Nanda Devi, Uttarakhand’s highest peak.  The ideal time to visit is between  March to June. Nainital is famous for the Naini Lake, the amazing view, and the pleasant weather. Some of the other place of tourist interest are the Mall, now known as the Govind Ballabh Pant Marg. You can find restaurants, offices, and hotels all located in the Mall.

 BHIMTAL:- Bhimtal is a town and a nagar panchayat, near Nainital city in Nainital district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is situated at 1370 meters above sea level and about 22 kilometers from Nainital. The major attraction in Bhimtal is the Bhimtal Lake, which has an island at its center. The Bhimtal Lake is one of the most popular lakes in the country and draws more than a million tourists every year. The lake is spread over an area of 47 acres, with a huge dam and an aquarium built on an island at the center of the lake, making it a major tourist attraction in Uttarakhand.

CHOPTA:- Chopta is a birding paradise and you can see over 240 species of birds here, including native and migratory species like Himalayan monal, Himalayan swiftlet, Himalayan griffon, scarlet finch, hill partridge.    January to Mid March is the snow season in Chopta and you can enjoy skiing here in Chopta and do snow treks. Trees are laden with snow and Chopta is picturesque. The temperature drops minimum to minus five and it snows throughout.
